Left the Sahara & been on the road again.
The last few days had us on the road through a series of little towns, all kinds of scenery, a host of riads and casbahs for the night and a lot of uncontrolled laughter in the car.
A paved road, then suddenly there were people around too. And little restaurants and riads (hotels) to crash at.
My bed and "clean clothes" in the casbah/riad. You know you've been on the road for a while when you have no idea what's in your suitcase and your concept of clean clothes is whatever you weren't wearing before your shower. Wake up, get dressed, have a cup of coffee and get back on the road: more towns, more bends in the road, more coffee stops and more sunsets await.
And somehow, we just don't seem to get tired of it. Or when we do, we turn up the music.
Tonight has us in a riad where we actually have a tub! And really hot water. And fire in the room. The water turned black after each one of us. Luckily, I got to use it first. A little more road to cover tomorrow and now that I am all clean, all I want to do is hit the sack -- so, bye for now.
So it doesn't look like the above has posted [intermittent internet connections here], well here I am again checking in after a good night's sleep. Can't believe what a difference a hot bath made!
Might be looking like a caveman still, nevertheless this 10-hour unlimited access to hot running water is beyond appreciated! Ready to hit the road -- should be in Casablanca tonight.
This 4WD is starting to feel like a primary residence and I think it's safe to say that we have grown beyond familiar with each others' body-clocks. I can't decide if I like the scenery, the music or the company best, never a dull moment with these two, that's for sure.
What an incredible journey. So glad you posted so many fabulous photos. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I am posting this as we just arrived into Casablanca. Your photos and comments keep it so fresh and they are so enticing that I had a momentary feeling that I would love to go---(and I was just there!). You capture it so well and I know I am spending this entire trip to get a glimpse of how you do it. But I think it is simply that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and it is not only what photos, what views, what sequence and what comments but the extra special joy you have in what you see, whom you meet (not to mention what you eat-but as you told me many times, there are no calories on an adventure).
I await your schedule for Casablanca (inside joke as I know there will not be a schedule!).
